The neighbourhood

The development Harmonie is located opposite Grote Berg. Grote Berg is a residential area on Curaçao.

Grote Berg is centrally located on the narrowest part of the island, just west of Curaçao International Airport. The main traffic artery is the Weg Naar Westpunt.

The place is part of the Third District. Cadastral, Curaçao is divided into four districts; this no longer plays an administrative role. Grote Berg is split in two parts by Kaya Grote Berg, in an Eastern and a Western part. Residents also speak of Old and New Large Mountain or High and Low Large Mountain. These parts are on the north side of the road to Westpunt.

The neighborhood Grote Berg is named after the Grote Berg land house that is still there. The name of the land house may not refer to the large mountain on the route from Willemstad to Westpunt as such, but was so named because it was one of the few land houses with a storey floor. However, the lower hill next to Grote Berg is called Kleine Berg.
